Le Train high-speed services move onto Paris routes
17.03.2026
As reported by Rail Journal, Le Train high-speed services are set to expand. The new routes would link Paris with Rennes and Bordeaux. Also, the plan follows framework track access contracts signed with infrastructure manager SNCF Network.

Le Train high-speed services and the Paris expansion
Le Train, a French open-access operator, was founded in 2020. It was created to provide direct high-speed links between regional cities in western France. Meanwhile, its initial focus was on services connecting Bordeaux with Nantes and Rennes, as previously covered by Railway Supply.
Still, the company says some major routes to the French capital face excess demand. “Trains are full, and passengers struggle to find seats at times that suit them,” Le Train says.

In addition, Le Train says it is widening its network. It is adding two new Paris connections. The company says demand is high and supply is insufficient on those routes. At the same time, the new services would link Paris with Rennes and Bordeaux. They would run under framework track access contracts with SNCF Network.
“Le Train is today expanding its network of direct high-speed rail lines between regional cities with two new connections to Paris, on two routes where demand is high and supply is insufficient,” says Alain Getraud, co-founder and CEO of Le Train. “Creating more services means giving everyone access to rail and low-carbon mobility.”
ART review and open-access high-speed services in France
Separately, the company says the next step is to submit the framework agreements. They would go to French rail regulator ART. For example, ART would check the plans against non-discriminatory access to the network. The process is reflected in ART documentation.
