Railroad passenger traffic resumes in Georgia
After a three-month break the Georgian Railway resumes passenger traffic from February 27, 2021. Trains began to run on the main routes from Tbilisi to Batumi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti and Kutaisi. The tickets reportedly went on sale online on February 25, and the train ticket offices were slated to open the day before reopening. This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the website of the Georgian railway.

It is noted that containers with a disinfectant solution for hands will be installed in train carriages. In addition, passengers will only be allowed in masks. Georgian Railway calls for following safety recommendations.
The timetable given on the company’s website lists 5 trains, in particular, Tbilisi – Batumi, which departs from the capital of the country at 8 am and arrives at the port city on the Black Sea at 2 pm.
