CRRC completes Hangzhou Metro train for Line 12
13.05.2026
CRRC has marked the completion of the fully automated Hangzhou Metro train. The train came off the production line last month. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

According to CRRC, the train was developed by CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. It was built to Hangzhou’s proprietary AH-type specification. It will enter service on Hangzhou Metro Line 12, with a maximum operating speed of 100 km/h.
Fully automated Hangzhou Metro train functions
The automation covers the complete operational cycle. This includes wake-up and sleep, self-diagnosis, depot entry and exit, mainline operation, station stopping and door operation, and train washing.
Also, the onboard intelligent systems include active and passive obstacle detection. They also include safety monitoring for the running gear. Critical circuits and key subsystems use redundant design in an effort to enhance operational safety.

The train is also equipped with self-healing capabilities. These include automatic subsystem reset and remote control, ensuring high availability under abnormal conditions.
Traction, energy saving and passenger systems
The train uses a permanent magnet traction system. It aims to deliver overall energy savings of more than 20%. In addition, its air-conditioning system combines antibacterial and antiviral purification with intelligent airflow distribution technology.
To further reduce vibration and noise, the vehicle also uses high-seal electric plug doors, sound-insulating pads, and high-performance sound insulation materials.
