The six-car train will undergo static tests in March at the depot, followed by a four-month trial run on the 18.8 km stretch of the yellow line in April to assess the automatic train control system, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Deliveries of locally assembled trains from the CRRC and Titagarh Rail Systems joint venture are expected to begin in May, aiming to produce 34 trains for three metro lines at a rate of two per month.

The launch of the yellow line with eight trains is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024, a year later than planned due to CRRC’s challenges in establishing the joint venture in India and other issues.
