Sound Transit told 1 Line and 2 Line riders to allow extra time for Seattle event crowds on Sept. 27, with a Mariners day game and a Kehlani concert.

A Mariners game and a Kehlani concert on one Sunday

The advisory ran from 12:10 p.m. to 11 p.m. and listed two events: the Seattle Mariners against the Los Angeles Angels at T-Mobile Park at 12:10 p.m., and the Kehlani World Tour at Climate Pledge Arena at 6:30 p.m. Sound Transit told riders to expect crowds in stations and on platforms, as well as on trains and at its parking facilities.

Parking drew the most specific warning. The agency said its parking fills up fast on game days, sooner than usual. It asked drivers heading to a station to plan around that if they wanted a space.

Sounder game trains and 2 Line track work

For the ballgame, Sound Transit also scheduled special Sounder service to King Street Station. N Line train 1811 was due to leave Everett at 9:45 a.m. and reach Seattle at 10:44 a.m. S Line train 1610 was due out of Lakewood at 9:11 a.m. and into Seattle at 10:27 a.m. Both return trips were to depart 45 minutes after the game ended.

On the Eastside, 2 Line trains shared a single track at Redmond Technology and Marymoor Village stations on Sept. 27 and 28 for planned maintenance. Sound Transit asked riders at those two stations to board every train from the platform serving Lynnwood City Center.

How the 1 Line and 2 Line share tracks through Seattle

The 2 Line has shared the 1 Line’s route through Seattle since March 28, 2026. That day the Crosslake Connection took it across Lake Washington to International District/Chinatown Station. Sound Transit says trains of the two lines together arrive every four to five minutes between Lynnwood City Center and International District/Chinatown stations.

The next change on that shared route comes on Wednesday, Sept. 30, when Pinehurst Station opens near NE 130th Street. Sound Transit expects 1 and 2 Line trains to stop there every four to five minutes. The agency describes it as its first infill station, expected to serve about 3,400 riders over time.

Link light rail openings since 2024

Sound Transit has opened five Link sections since April 2024, the latest being the Crosslake Connection, and Pinehurst Station is the next scheduled addition.
