Separately, the initiative is powered by AION-Tech Solutions through ROQIT, a cloud-native SaaS platform, and ETO Motors, the logistics partner and electric mobility-led provider managing first- and last-mile deliveries.

Under South Central Railway (SCR), the pilot is framed around more structured, digitally enabled parcel operations across the rail ecosystem, as South Central Railway notes. Also, ROQIT supports digitalised booking, real-time parcel tracking, and operational workflows, while supporting interoperability across stakeholders involved in parcel handling and transfers.

Commenting on the milestone, Bhanutej Mallangi, Chief Product Officer of ROQIT, said: “RailParcel represents an important step towards structured, digitally enabled parcel operations within the rail ecosystem. Through ROQIT, we are establishing a foundational technology layer that enhances operational visibility and standardises workflows across touchpoints. Insights generated can support scalable, data-driven logistics operations across the rail network.”

ROQIT real-time parcel tracking and digitalised booking

ROQIT sits at the centre of the digital workflow management layer, with an emphasis on standardising workflows across touchpoints and improving operational visibility. In addition, the platform supports end-to-end parcel processes through real-time tracking and digital booking, with operational insights intended to help scale data-driven logistics operations across the rail network.

ETO Motors first- and last-mile deliveries and low-carbon logistics

On the ground, ETO Motors manages parcel transfers between railway terminals and delivery points to support timely movement and improve service consistency. Meanwhile, currently deployed across three cities, its operations are aligned with rail schedules to ensure seamless first- and last-mile connectivity.

Highlighting ETO’s role in the RailParcel pilot, Anthony Daniel, Chief Business Officer of ETO Motors, said: “The RailParcel pilot demonstrates how structured first- and last-mile logistics can effectively complement large-scale rail transportation networks. Working with South Central Railway allows us to strengthen operational readiness in sustainable parcel movement.”

At the same time, by integrating ROQIT’s digital platform with ETO Motors’ electric mobility-led logistics, RailParcel pilot delivery is framed as a seamless, low-carbon, end-to-end solution, as The Economic Times reported.

Still, the pilot reflects Indian Railways’ efforts to modernise operations, enhance multimodal connectivity, and lay the groundwork for scalable, efficient, and sustainable parcel handling.
