Railmark passenger-rail service resumes, names Keefe

Railmark passenger-rail service has resumed through its subsidiary, Train Travel Inc. The company made the announcement earlier this week. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

It also named Venetta Keefe director of passenger-rail services for Railmark and Train Travel Inc.
Railmark said it provides consulting, operating and mechanical services. Those services are aimed at transit agencies and intercity passenger-rail operations. They also are for states seeking an expansion of or new passenger-rail services.

In a press release, Railmark officials said: “Train Travel Inc. has a storied 38-year past with its own passenger-rail brands — Star Clipper Dinner Train and Reno Fun Train — having handled over 3.5 million passengers in its past.” They added: “Train Travel Inc. is also a fully accredited, rail-centric travel agency.”
Venetta Keefe to direct passenger-rail services
Railmark said Keefe has extensive experience in passenger-rail services and safety. That background was also noted by Progressive Railroading.
Most recently, she served as the Midwest project manager for the Federal Railroad Administration. Before that, she served for 24 years in the Indiana Department of Transportation’s rail division.
“She is among a very small, select group of passenger-rail professionals with experience managing state-funded passenger-rail service under the complex federal [Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act] legislation,” said Railmark President and CEO B. Allen Brown.
