NJ Transit service resumption: rail, bus and Access Link
24.02.2026
NJ Transit service resumption is underway after the winter storm, as noted by Railway Supply. The agency outlined updated plans for rail, bus and Access Link service in an update shared by 6abc.

NJ Transit rail service changes after winter storm
NJ Transit said rail service will operate on a Presidents’ Day holiday schedule, with line-specific adjustments, according to NJ TRANSIT travel alerts. Also, the Atlantic City Rail Line will run on a regular weekday schedule.
On the Morristown, Gladstone and Montclair-Boonton lines, trains will follow the Presidents’ Day timetable, but all Midtown Direct service to Penn Station New York will be diverted to Hoboken. Cross-honoring in Hoboken will be in effect with PATH (to 33rd St.), NY Waterway Ferry (to Midtown/W39th St.) and NJ TRANSIT 126 bus as part of the Portal Cutover adjustments.

In addition, the Pascack Valley Line, along with the Main-Bergen and Port Jervis lines, will operate as scheduled on a Presidents’ Day schedule.
Northeast Corridor schedule adjustments and express service
Meanwhile, trains on the Northeast Corridor will run with schedule adjustments due to Amtrak work on the Northeast Corridor to clear snow from track switches. NJ Transit said Amtrak’s work will continue overnight, and the changes will remain in place until the work is complete.
Under the temporary plan, Northeast Corridor trains will operate between Trenton and Metropark, then run express to Newark Penn Station for travel to Secaucus and Penn Station New York. Trains will not make local stops between Metropark and Newark.
North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley Line service suspended
NJ Transit said service will remain suspended on the North Jersey Coast Line and the Raritan Valley Line. Resumption of service on these lines, along with the resumption of local stops on the Northeast Corridor, is contingent upon Amtrak’s completion of its switch-clearing work.
Separately, bus, light rail and Access Link will operate on a regular weekday schedule beginning with the start of the service day on Tuesday morning. Customers should be prepared for possible delays, detours or cancellations depending on roadway conditions.
NJ Transit advised customers to monitor service alerts, njtransit.com, the NJ TRANSIT mobile app, or their individual line account on X for the latest service updates.
