Linsinger: Hydrogen-fueled rail milling track machine

Linsinger presented the world’s first hydrogen-fueled rail milling track machine, the company has developed special rail milling trains designed to process the rail head at the point of defect, i.e. without disassembling the railroad track, reports Railway Supply magazine referring the manufacturer’s website.

Linsinger wants to be part of the energy revolution and would like to actively contribute to future generations. Hydrogen production is relatively straightforward. Water breaks down into hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2). In this process, electrical energy is converted into chemical energy and stored in hydrogen. Electricity is generated from the hydrogen and air obtained; only water is a product of this conversion. A key element of the energy revolution is green hydrogen, which is produced carbon-free and in an environmentally friendly manner.

All the company’s machines are suitable for individual rail milling work both on main tracks and on city lines, in subways, tramways and on private railway lines, as well as on turnouts, for work on level crossings and in tunnels.
