Iran and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of railways
In Tehran, the capital of Iran, Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a memorandum implying the active development of cooperation in the field of railways, informs railway magazine «Railway Supply» with the reference to CBC
The document was signed by the head of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Javid Gurbanov and the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, Executive Director of the Iranian Railway Company Said Rasul.
According to the memorandum, the annual transit of the two countries should increase by two million tons.
As part of the memorandum, the parties agreed to develop cooperation in the railway sector. Note that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, last year the volume of transit traffic between the two countries exceeded 480 000 tons.
