Last year, Newag signed the largest contract for the supply of Impuls 2 electric trains for the SKM Warszawa carrier. Another key factor in the company’s development was the signing of contracts for the supply of an innovative hybrid locomotive that can run using an electric or internal combustion engine. The West Pomeranian Region Office was the first customer to receive two hybrid locomotives in January 2021, and Koleje Dolnoślskie has ordered six locomotives to be delivered in the second half of 2021.

The investment plan, launched in 2019, enabled the opening of a modern logistics center with a modern high-bay warehouse, installing solar panels and launching a line for repairing electric cars and repairing wheelsets.

Last year, Newag launched the first and only test site in Poland to test locomotives with different voltage types, including 3 kV DC, 25 kV and 15 kV AC, which are used in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Poland.

“Despite all the difficulties, it was a good time for us. I believe that in the coming years the implemented projects will further strengthen us as a leader in the rail vehicle market and as an innovative and reliable business partner, ”said Zbigniew Konieczek, President of NEWAG.
