PANYNJ Completes $430 Million Infrastructure Overhaul to Revive 7-Day PATH Operations
05.05.2026
PATH seven-day service will return on May 17. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will restore the service. That covers all four Port Authority Trans-Hudson lines. It is the first such full-week pattern in 25 years. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

PANYNJ said the expanded service follows the completion of PATH Forward. Broader fare payment options also follow the program. The two-year program was valued at $430 million. The work included renewal of more than 15,000 feet of track. In addition, crews installed three new rail switch systems. They renovated stations and updated rail cars.
Service changes after PATH Forward
“These game-changing service enhancements and improved fare payment options are continuing to provide more frequent and reliable service to our customers,” said PATH Director and General Manager Clarelle DeGraffe.
On weekends, direct Journal Square-33rd Street trains will operate from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Also, direct Hoboken-World Trade Center service will return on weekends. According to PANYNJ, it is the first such weekend return in nearly 25 years. In addition, weekend trains will run on the Hoboken-33rd Street line.
Weekend service and fare change
The Journal Square-33rd Street and Hoboken-33rd Street routes will operate every 10 minutes. Meanwhile, Hoboken-World Trade Center trains will run every 20 minutes.
At the same time, the added service comes with a 25-cent fare increase. The increase was approved last December.
