For Thursday morning — and for the evening as well if issues continue — service is expected to mirror the pattern used on Wednesday.

GO Transit disruptions: which lines are most affected

On Lakeshore East, Lakeshore West, and the Kitchener line, trains are generally operating at 60-minute intervals. During the morning and evening peaks, headways tighten to about 15 to 30 minutes.

Milton, Stouffville, and Barrie are set to run 30-minute service during the morning and evening peak periods. The Richmond line is scheduled for 60-minute peak service. GO Transit said riders should check GO Transit Service Updates for the latest details and updates.

Trackwork complete, but signal repairs continue

Metrolinx, GO Transit’s parent agency, said the disruption traces back to a Monday morning derailment as a train departed Toronto Union Station, damaging track and signal infrastructure.

In a Wednesday afternoon update, Metrolinx said most trackwork was complete, but signal repairs were still ongoing. The agency warned impacts were likely to “extend into the coming days,” as summarized by CityNews Toronto.

Metrolinx update expected on evening and Friday service

Metrolinx said it plans another update later Thursday covering arrangements for Thursday evening service and Friday operations.
