Ukrzaliznytsia plans to cooperate with Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane

Ukrzaliznytsia and the Italian state holding Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane signed a memorandum of understanding. Its main purpose is to consider the possibilities and ways of cooperation in the railway industry, informs railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the press center of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Ukrzaliznytsia plans to cooperate

Interaction is planned in such areas as “analysis and consideration of technical and innovative solutions for possible implementation in railway transport and infrastructure.” At the same time, special attention is planned to be paid to high-speed line projects.

Also, within the framework of cooperation, it is planned to train and improve the skills of railway personnel of both parties, a coaching program and bilateral consultations.

To facilitate the implementation of the memorandum, a joint working group of experts is envisaged.

The Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane group is one of the largest in Italy. It is 100% owned by the state and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The company is a leader in the country in the field of passenger rail transportation with a market share of 88%. The volume of its traffic in Italy is about 600 million passengers per year.

The company operates a network of about 24.5 thousand km of deployed length, including 1.4 thousand km of high-speed lines. The company’s modern trains (made in Italy by the Frecciarossa 1000) can reach speeds of up to 360 km/h.
