In 2022, UZ will spend about UAH 4.2 billion on the renewal of the freight car fleet, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply citing Mintans.

In particular, more than UAH 2.5 billion will be spent on the purchase of 1,500 freight cars, and more than UAH 1.6 billion will be spent on modernization and overhaul.

The company also shared plans to upgrade the rolling stock in the passenger direction. It reminded about the intention to purchase 80 electric trains for passenger transportation this year.

UZ has already announced a tender for the purchase of 30 passenger non-compartment sleeping cars.

In addition, according to the plans announced earlier, the company will finalize the technical requirements and will soon announce a tender for the purchase of 70 seat-type cars.

This year, UZ will receive UAH 5.2 billion from the state budget, more than UAH 3 billion of which is planned to be spent on the purchase of new passenger cars.
