Ukrzaliznytsia has accelerated the turnover of freight cars by 14%
Ukrzaliznytsia has accelerated the turnover of freight cars by almost 14%. Now this figure is 6.9 days, whereas in March last year it was 8 days. It is also managed to reduce the turnover of a loaded car from 3.3 to 3 days, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
In addition, the average sectional speed of trains was accelerated. If in March 2020 it was 37.1 km/h, then by the end of March 2021 it was 37.3 km/h. The weight of a freight train for the same period on average across the network increased by 32 tons.

The company also reports on the normalization of work with seaports, metallurgical plants and mining and processing plants. “Thanks to this, no cases of so-called abandoned trains have been recorded,” the message says.
