TMH-Energy Solutions launches hydrogen train pilot project

TMH-Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of Transmashholding, and Rusatom Oversiz, a subsidiary of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to establish a joint venture to develop and use hydrogen fuel cells for rail transport. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply citing Railway Pro.

Within the framework of the agreement, the parties intend to implement a project to create a filling infrastructure and stations for trains on hydrogen fuel cells for their operation on the territory of the Sakhalin Region. In addition, it is planned to develop a concept and take part in the implementation of a project for the use of hydrogen fuel cells in the transport system of Moscow.

Both companies strive to ensure the localization of advanced foreign technologies of hydrogen energy for use in the transport sector of Russia, as well as organize the development, create conditions for the professional ownership and management of hydrogen transport infrastructure, as well as the sale of hydrogen for use in the transport sector.
