This was stated by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the country Nikolai Sabev, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to RZD-Partner.

The first step of the reform was the merger of the three companies involved in the organization of rail transport in Bulgaria into one.

Sabev specified that the reforms are starting with the company’s budget deficit of about 210 million euros, but assured that within six months the trend of reducing costs and increasing the company’s income will be clearly visible.

“Until February 18, a roadmap for the development of the company will be developed, as well as a five-year program for its sustainable development and modernization. Until the end of 2023, the company will be in a normal financial condition,” the head of the Ministry of Transport believes.
