Due to the meeting of the delegations of the Economic Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Economic Committee of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania in March in Lviv the possibilities of creating an additional link in the Baltic-Adriatic corridor through the EU to the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and the Ukrainian border in the direction of Dorohusk were discussed.

The aim is to create an efficient transport corridor between the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea with sufficient capacity. The Deputy Minister of Transport of Lithuania, Loreta Maskaliovienė, noted that such corridor is important for efficient use of sea ports and ensuring connection with Southern Europe, not only for Lithuania, but also for other Baltic countries.

She noted that concrete steps, such as identification of important projects and cooperation with the EU institutions are necessary for implementation of this transport corridor. Currently the main task is to make a joint effort to add an additional transport corridor to the TEN-T network, which would increase the overall capacity at the Ukraine-EU border in the direction of the Baltic Sea ports.
