Cargo transportation indicators of Georgian Railways are growing
It should be noted that the results for the first quarter of 2021 represent a record for the company over the past six years, informs Railway Supply magazine referring to JSC Georgian Railway.

- In the first three months of 2021 the volume of cargo transported by Georgian Railways increased by 7.3% compared to the same period in 2020, and revenue from freight traffic increased by 14%.
- In 2021, compared to 2020, shipments of petroleum products increased by 33%, and revenue increased by 42%.
- The indicators for container transportation are also growing. In the first quarter of 2021, container traffic grew by 3.5% compared to the previous year, while revenue grew by 8%.

Georgian Railways – the operational length of the main lines is 1 323.9 km (excluding the Abkhazian railway). The length of the main lines of the Georgian Railway, including lines in the territory of Abkhazia, is approximately 1 612 km. There are 1 422 bridges, 32 tunnels, 22 passenger stations and 114 loading stations in operation. Sadakhlo station is a junction with the Armenian railway, the border of the Georgian and Azerbaijani railways coincides with the state Georgian-Azerbaijani border.
