Alstom is ready to increase the level of localization in the contract for the supply of electric locomotives in Ukraine to 35%

The French concern Alstom is ready to increase the level of localization in the contract for the supply of electric locomotives in Ukraine. This was reported by “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the words of the Minister of Economy, Finance and Reconstruction of France, Bruno Le Mer.

Alstom is ready

The minister said: “Regarding to the contract for the supply of electric locomotives, Alstom is ready to localize up to 35% of production and service in Ukraine. At the beginning of the discussion, Alstom planned to localize about 20% of production in Ukraine. We realized that this was not enough. This is a clear indication of our readiness to take into account the legitimate request of the Ukrainian authorities, “reports Railway Supply magazine with reference to Railinsider.

Ukrzaliznytsia and Stadler agree on cooperation and localization of the production of Swiss company trains in Ukraine in case of state order

The minister also added that 160 French companies have now been created in Ukraine, employing 30 000 people, so France is interested in strengthening ties in very specific sectors: utilities for the distribution of drinking water, energy, infrastructure and transport (for example, trains), healthcare and agriculture, of course. As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia has previously agreed on cooperation and localization in Ukraine of the production of trains by the Swiss company Stadler in case of a government order. The parties have already signed a corresponding memorandum.
