Ukrzaliznytsia has announced a tender for the selection of a contractor for the overhaul of 13 2TE116 diesel locomotives.

The estimated cost of the work is UAH 743 million. The tender is divided into three lots: two for repair of five diesel locomotives and one for the repair of three locomotives.

The repair should extend the service life of the locomotives by 12 years. The work will be carried out until 2026. The auction is scheduled for March 9, 2022. Proposals will be accepted until January 31st.

We will remind, earlier the director of the Department of locomotive economy of UZ Sergey Pavlov said that the company is working on the procurement of 40 new diesel locomotives Wabtec (General Electric).

At the same time, the chairman of the board of UZ Alexander Kamyshin said that a tender for their purchase will be announced by the end of 2021.
