The CR450 train, capable of reaching speeds up to 450 km/h, will be introduced on the Chinese high-speed rail network in 2025, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The CR450 train, capable of accelerating to 450 km/h.

This was announced by the chairman of the China Railway Corporation, Liu Zhengfan.

According to him, the prototype of this high-speed train is planned to be completed this year, and testing will commence.

The CR450 will be the final model of the Chinese Fuxing high-speed train series. Its operational speed will be 450 km/h, exceeding the maximum speed of the previous CR400 model by 50 km/h.

Achieving such speed will require innovations in aerodynamics, energy efficiency, the use of new sound insulation materials, and a traction system with permanent magnets.

The chairman emphasized that technological innovations are crucial for creating new industrial sectors, products, and stimulating the economy.

This is a key element in the development of the productive forces of a new quality.

Currently, individual subsystems intended for use in the construction of the new train are undergoing testing on the CR400BF-J test train.

In April 2022, on the Zhengzhou–Jinan line, two sets of this model set a world speed record while traveling in opposite directions, reaching a speed of 435 km/h (with a closing speed of 870 km/h).
