Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde recently chair a planning meeting in Mumbai with Maharail and NHSRCL officials. They held a discussion with connecting the new station with local rail, metro, and suburban network across the Mumbai Metro Region.

The first phase of the project investigates links with Kopar, Diva, and Thane stations, along with Taloja Metro. Since Thane is situated between Navi Mumbai and Mumbai, this interconnection will decrease congestion and bring in fresh investment.

Authorities will connect the bullet train with planned corridors to fortify final-mile penetration. The higher Kopar terminal on the Panvel–Vasai corridor can cater to Bhiwandi and Kalyan, and Diva and Thane stations can serve central suburbs.

Shinde assured that High-Speed Rail Authority will analyze the proposal prior to submitting to Ministry of Railways. The tie-up evidences increased co-operation between central and state agencies.
