One of the latest significant steps in this field is the collaboration between RailPulse and Amsted Rail, aimed at implementing advanced telematics solutions in freight rail transportation.

In Kazakhstan, plans are underway to increase passenger car purchases by 18%

RailPulse, a joint venture of the largest North American carriers and railcar manufacturers, has entered into an agreement with Amsted Rail to serve as an intermediary for delivering the IQ Series telematics platform to freight car owners.

This partnership promises significant improvements in the management and monitoring of rail assets.

What is the IQ Series?

The IQ Series is a modern telematics platform designed for online tracking of various operational parameters of freight cars.

Devices in this series provide real-time data on the location, mileage, and load of railcars.

This allows operators and car owners to manage their assets more efficiently by optimizing routes and minimizing downtime.

Additionally, with the installation of Bogie IQ sensors on the bogies, the system can monitor the condition of wheels, slippage, impact direction, and other critical parameters.

These data help prevent breakdowns and accidents, increasing the safety and reliability of rail transport.

Integration and Advantages

Under the agreement, Amsted Rail will not only distribute IQ Series devices through RailPulse but will also integrate RailPulse services into its own software. This will ensure full compatibility and ease of use for customers already utilizing Amsted Rail products.

One of the key advantages of the IQ Series solutions is the autonomy of the sensors and the ability to update them remotely.

This means the devices can operate for extended periods without physical intervention, and the software will always be up to date, significantly reducing operational costs.

Expansion of Collaboration

It is worth noting that RailPulse already has experience working with various telematics companies.

At the beginning of the year, a similar agreement was signed with the Swiss company Nexxiot, demonstrating RailPulse’s commitment to diversifying and improving its technological solutions.

The collaboration between RailPulse and Amsted Rail opens new horizons for freight rail transportation, making it smarter and more efficient.

Implementing telematics on freight cars not only enhances asset management and monitoring but also increases transportation safety, which is a key factor in modern logistics.
