Pacific Surfliner adds daily Los Angeles–San Luis Obispo trip

Pacific Surfliner service expansion is set for next month. It will add a new daily Amtrak roundtrip. The service will run between Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo, California.

The Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) Rail Corridor Agency is planning the added service. So are the Ventura County Transportation Commission and the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments.
Pacific Surfliner service expansion and schedule changes
Starting May 4, the new daily roundtrip will increase Pacific Surfliner frequencies. In addition, there will be six daily trips to Goleta. There will also be three daily trips to San Luis Obispo, as Railway Supply reports.

That will provide more weekday travel options between Los Angeles, Ventura County, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. LOSSAN agency officials said the move will improve weekday commuter flexibility. It will also improve regional connectivity between Los Angeles, Ventura County, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.
Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo service details
Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner operates along a 351-mile coastal corridor. It connects San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Separately, the service offers various onboard amenities. These include comfortable seating and power outlets.
Regional connectivity along the Central Coast
Jason Jewell, the LOSSAN agency’s managing director, said: “Expanding Pacific Surfliner service helps strengthen regional mobility and provides travelers with more convenient options along the Central Coast.”
