How Norfolk Southern intermodal service was structured?

In a social media post, Norfolk Southern Railway said it had created the solution. It was built for the retailer’s specific needs. It was meant to simplify operations and improve reliability.

“From our International Intermodal Sales & Marketing and Customer Logistics teams building the relationship, to Intermodal Operations showcasing the strength of our Maple Heights terminal, to Network Design and Transportation delivering a best-in-market service product, this win reflects what we do best — working together to deliver for our customers,” they said.

Bob’s Discount Furniture’s Cleveland distribution center

According to Bob’s Blog, the new distribution center officially opened in February. Bob’s Discount Furniture said the site pairs a distribution center with a retail store. It is the company’s first distribution center to do so.

The Cleveland, Ohio, distribution center is served through intermodal rail service. NS pointed to its Maple Heights terminal.
