Mumbai Metro telecom contract awarded for Metro Lines 9 and 7A

Mumbai Metro telecom contract work has been awarded by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) to EFKON India Private Limited, as reported by Rail Analysis.

This package is part of the Mumbai Metro expansion. It covers Mumbai Metro Line 9, from Dahisar East to Rai. Also, it covers Mumbai Metro Line 7A, from Andheri East to CSMIA. In addition, it includes telecom systems at the Dongri Depot.
Mumbai Metro telecom contract scope
Under the contract, EFKON India will carry out the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunication systems. These works cover the sections above. In addition, the scope includes engineering and equipment supply across the specified corridors. As Metro Rail News notes, the TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) system is excluded from the package. Meanwhile, the remaining work focuses on other communication technologies needed for metro operations.

The contract value is stated in two figures. It lists USD 1,001,589.92 and INR 94,55,97,196.63. Separately, execution is scheduled to run for 30 months beginning on February 18, 2026.
