Modified Amtrak service and the New York–Boston suspension

Out of an abundance of caution, and in consultation with contract meteorologists, host railroads, and local officials, Amtrak halted travel on the New York Moynihan Train Hall–Boston South Station corridor. Meanwhile, the company cited dangerous weather conditions and said the suspension will remain in place until at least 4:00 P.M. on February 23.

Winter weather service adjustments on other Amtrak routes

In addition to the New York–Boston shutdown, Amtrak is making additional service adjustments to other routes due to hazardous conditions. Still, impacted customers will be notified directly of any cancellations or schedule changes.

How to rebook, request refunds, and check train status?

Customers affected by these changes can rebook or request refunds without penalties on Amtrak.com, through the Amtrak mobile app, or by calling the Care Center at 1-800-USA-RAIL. At the same time, Amtrak said the safety of customers and team members remains its highest priority, and that these proactive measures help limit exposure to hazardous conditions, protect equipment, and support guidance from state and local authorities advising limited travel during and after the storm, similar to messaging in a winter storm advisory.

Separately, for the most up to date information, Amtrak recommends checking the Amtrak mobile app or visiting Amtrak.com for current train status, including updates posted on Amtrak Service Alerts and Notices.
