Guadalajara–Marchamalo intermodal terminal capacity and layout

Port Tarragona puts design capacity at up to 100,000 UTIs per year. The facility includes six tracks. Three of them are 750 metres long. It also has three reception and dispatch tracks. The site also has rail access from both Madrid and Zaragoza.

Standard gauge access and TEN-T network role

Standard gauge access is scheduled to reach Port Tarragona in 2026. It will come through the Mediterranean Corridor. The port will then have both Iberian and standard gauge connectivity. It will function as a TEN-T junction between the Henares, Ebro and Mediterranean corridors.
