Grampet modernised rolling stock tests coaches and ELASMO
17.05.2026
Grampet modernised rolling stock has completed testing. The vehicles include two refurbished passenger coaches and an upgraded ELASMO locomotive. The work was supported through Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Testing of Grampet modernised rolling stock
Grampet Group reported that coaches 35 and 36, modernised by Electroputere VFU Pașcani, underwent route trials last week. Also, the runs checked operational performance and safety parameters under service conditions.
At the same time, ELASMO 016 went through performance trials. The locomotive had been upgraded at RELOC Craiova. The trials verified its technical behaviour and compliance with the required operating parameters.
The coach modernisation was carried out at Electroputere VFU Pașcani. Separately, the locomotive upgrade was handled by RELOC Craiova. In addition, both facilities are part of Grampet Group’s rolling stock manufacturing and maintenance operations.
The projects are part of a wider PNRR-backed fleet renewal programme. It focuses on upgrading existing rolling stock for continued use on the Romanian rail network.
