Glasgow Central services resume on west side platforms

According to ScotRail, platforms 7 to 15 on the west side of Glasgow Central have reopened. ScotRail is running a half-hourly Ayr–Glasgow Central service. It calls at every station between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning. For example, that includes Johnstone, Milliken Park, Howwood, Lochwinnoch, Glengarnock and Dalry.

Also, ScotRail has resumed an hourly all-stations service between Gourock and Glasgow Central. In addition, it is running an hourly all-stations service between Wemyss Bay and Glasgow Central. At the same time, Kilmarnock and Glasgow Central are being served twice an hour. Those trains call at all stations. They also run alongside the regular Carlisle and South Ayrshire services.

ScotRail services and Avanti West Coast operations

Meanwhile, East Kilbride now has a half-hourly service to Glasgow Central. Also, Lanark is served hourly. As Avanti West Coast notes, the operator is running one train each hour between Euston and Glasgow Central.

Separately, another hourly service is operating between Euston and Motherwell or Edinburgh. ScotRail is providing onward connections to Glasgow Central Low Level. Still, Avanti West Coast says its ticket office and first class lounge remain closed. An exclusion zone is in place for Network Rail to carry out “significant work”.

Low level platforms return to full timetable

Meanwhile, a full timetable on the low level platforms resumed on 11 March. It covers services from Cumbernauld, Whifflet, Larkhall and Motherwell. It also covers services to Dalmuir, Balloch and Milngavie.
