JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” and the railway of Moldova signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the next three years. The parties agreed to increase the volume of transportation of goods, as well as to involve Ukrainian specialists in the rehabilitation and modernization of the railway infrastructure in Moldova. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to the Elevatorist.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Moldovan railway has become an even more important partner for us. Our neighbors helped us export grain and import much-needed diesel fuel. We strive to further deepen relations and cooperation between our railways,” commented Alexander Kamyshin, chairman of the board of UZ, commenting on the signing of the agreement.

Since February 24, 2022, 397 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain have been exported through Moldova by rail.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to deepen cooperation between the railways of the countries to increase the volume of cargo transportation, as well as to involve Ukrainian specialists in the repair and restoration of the railway infrastructure of Moldova.
