Ukrzaliznytsia transported 22 million tons of cargo in January
Ukrzaliznytsia transported 22 million tons of cargo in January 2021. This is almost 2 million tons, or 8% less than the corresponding month of last year. Domestic traffic amounted to 9.9 million tons, exports – 8.1 million tons, imports – 3 million tons, transit – 0.8 million tons. This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the press center of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Iron and manganese ore (6.5 million tons) were the most transported. In addition, among the leaders were coal (4.1 million tons), mineral buiding materials (2.5 million tons), grain (2.3 million tons), ferrous metals (1.8 million tons).
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January 2020, the railways of Ukraine transported 23.9 million tons of cargo. This was 12% less than in the same month in 2019.
