The contract for 1300 passenger railcars for the needs of the Egyptian National Railways, worth more than 1 billion euros, was signed in 2018. The supplies are jointly financed by Hungarian and Russian export-import banks, and production is carried out both in Russia and in Hungary.

The delivery schedule provides for sending 35 units of equipment to the customer’s address every month. Trains are immediately formed from this rolling stock. For example, new railcars were included in trains running from Cairo to Alexandria, Assiut and Sokhna. Warranty service is carried out at the Abo Gates depot.
