TIS has updated the record for handling railway wagons

The largest transport maritime hub TIS in May 2020 updated its own record for the speed of daily processing of railway wagons. This was reported by the press service of the company.

TIS has updated the record for handling railway wagons by handling 1596 wagons per day. During the day (from 20:00 to 20:00) in May, TIS processed 1596 wagons. It is the highest level, because this result is two or three times higher than that of other Ukrainian ports.

As the company emphasizes, this record became possible due to the work of about 600 professionals of the TIS railway management under the direction of Anatoly Verlan. “We would like to thank our colleagues from the railway administration and other departments for the excellent result and well-coordinated teamwork,” the press service added.

Also, in May, the TIS-Coal terminal updated the records of unloading wagons per work shift and per day. “The first record was set on a night shift in mid-May, when colleagues unloaded 400 wagons per shift. This figure has already become the maximum in the entire history of the terminal. A few days later, the same shift unloaded 456 wagons, and at the same time TIS-Coal reached the maximum daily record of unloading – 797 wagons, ”the press service reports.

TIS terminal group is the largest private stevedoring company in Ukraine. It operates 5 specialized terminals in the water area of ​​the Pivdenny seaport: TIS-Grain, TIS-Mineral Fertilisers, TIS-Ore, TIS-Coal and TIS-Container Terminal.

The volume of investments in port infrastructure facilities during the operation of the company amounted to $ 770 million. In 2019, TIS updated its own cargo handling record, increasing its cargo turnover by 29.1% – up to 33.17 million tons. In January-April 2020, TIS handled a record amount of cargo – 11.75 million tons, which is 23.2% higher compared to the same period in 2019.

Railway infrastructure TIS is one of the most developed private railway infrastructures in Ukraine:

  • TIS operates its own railway station “Khimicheskaya”

  • In 2018, TIS was the first among Ukrainian ports to launch weekly container trains. At the moment, up to 15 container trains a week run from TIS to Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Ternopil and Chernigiv.

  • The company has 28 own shunting locomotives.

  • Over the past few years, the company has built the Prichalny railway park on its own. It has 23 km of tracks and 62 turnouts.
