The trains are planned to be repaired at the enterprise of Ukrzaliznytsia – CJSC Kiev Electric Car Repair Plant. The following works are planned to be performed here: replacement of worn-out parts; insulating and painting, applying grease; inspection of carts and mechanical parts; restoration of damaged paintwork; replacement of faulty and damaged interior equipment.

However, the key and most difficult work, in particular, the repair of motor carts, will be performed directly by the manufacturer – Skoda Transportation.

The timing of the completion of the repairs depends on the results of diagnostics, which will be made by Skoda specialists, as well as on the delivery times of wheelsets that will be completely replaced. The completion of the repair of the first electric train is tentatively planned by the end of 2021.

The EJ675 Skoda City Elephant electric train consists of six double-deck cars with 623 seats (46 first class, 590 second class), it is designed for a speed of 160 km/h. The trains were delivered to Ukraine on the eve of the 2012 European Football Championship final. However, they have been idle for the past few years, awaiting scheduled repairs.
