In the first quarter of the 2021/2022 fiscal year (September-November 2021), the Greenbrier Group (USA) received an order for 6,200 new wagons worth USD 670 million. Greenbrier will also modernize bodies for 1,400 cars.

For comparison, in the previous quarter (from June 1 to August 31, 2021) Greenbrier customers ordered 5,500 freight cars with a total value of USD 530 million, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to Greenbrier.

Orders include rolling stock of various types, including platforms for the transport of containers and semi-trailers, covered wagons, gondola cars, tanks, hopper cars and specialized car carriers.

The total value of orders in the first quarter of the 2021/2022 financial year is 36% of similar revenues in the previous financial year as a whole.

Lack of locomotives in Poland

As of August 31, 2021, Greenbrier order book portfolio reached USD 2.8 billion, which ensured the loading of production capacity in the coming years.

The integrated business model allows the Greenbrier Group to position itself firmly in the North and South American wagon recovery markets, as well as in Europe.

In addition to wagon fleet maintenance services in North America, Greenbrier offers leasing services. As of September 30, 2021, Greenbrier and its subsidiary GBX Leasing had at their disposal about 12.5 thousand cars to lease.
