The Federation of Transport Employers of Ukraine (FRTU) appeals to the Cabinet of Ministers to instruct the Ministry of Infrastructure to finalize the draft order “On approval of the Procedure for establishing a ban on the operation of freight cars on railway transport.”

«Railway Supply» magazine №3-2020

The Federation reports that at present it is possible to inspect only 200 railway tanks per month, therefore, the adoption of the draft order in the current edition will significantly affect the consumers of diesel fuel, and these are industry, agriculture, railway and the armed forces of Ukraine.

“The stop of the tank cars will exacerbate the problems with the supply of diesel fuel. Already, there are supply interruptions and a critical decrease in diesel fuel stocks at Ukrzaliznytsia, according to the Federation of Transport Employers of Ukraine.

In addition, the FRTU stressed that the proposals on the inadmissibility of establishing a limit on the service life for specialized rolling stock, in particular, gondola cars for the transportation of pellets and sinter, remain unaccounted for.
