Southern Railway carried out more than 30 departures of fire fighting vechicles in the first quarter of 2021

For the first quarter of 2021 the regional branch “Southern Railway” JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” carried out 33 departures of fire fighting vehicles. This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the company’s press center.

For three months in 2021, fire trains made 7 departures:

• fire extinguishing while providing assistance to regular fire departments — 4;
• fatigue duties — 2;
• conducting joint tactical firefighting exercises to check the state of readiness of forces and means to minimize the negative consequences of terrorist (sabotage) acts — 1.

The Southern Railway carried over two million passengers in suburban traffic in the first quarter

Fire trucks made 26 trips due to the following reasons:

• ensuring fire safety during events with a massive presence of people — 2 departures;
• assistance in fire extinguishing — 10 cases
• conducting exercises with the development of professional skills with the personnel and members of the voluntary fire brigade of the production units of the branch — 14.

In the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, railway firefighters are systematically provided with personal protective equipment and disinfection equipment.

On the basis of the structural unit “Militarized Security Service” of the regional branch “Southern Railway”, JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” created an emergency rescue service which includes 9 fire trains.
