Škoda wins a contract for the supply of electrical equipment to Tanzania

The Škoda Transportation Group has signed a contract with Hyundai Rotem for over $ 26.48 million for the supply of 17 sets of electrical equipment for new passenger locomotives. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Škoda Transportation.

These locomotives will operate on a new 550 km rail line in Tanzania, Africa. The locomotives will be designed to operate in conditions of high altitude differences and difficult climatic conditions.

The company said the project in Tanzania is “technically very interesting.”
