Signaling tests on high-speed railway section began in Turkey

Turkey is testing the ETCS Level-1 signaling system on Konya-Karaman high-speed traffic section. Testing began on February 8 at Chumra station and will last until March 15, informs Railway Supply magazine citing information from the Turkish state railway.

The tests began after the completion of the infrastructure works.

During the implementation of the project, it is planned to increase the train speed to 200 km/h and reduce the travel time between Konya and Karaman from 1 hour 15 minutes to 35 minutes.

In addition, work continues to increase the speed on the 135-kilometers section of Karaman – Ulukishla. This line is 73% complete.
