Romania announced another tender for a railway reconstruction project
Romania’s national railway operator CFR has announced a tender for a feasibility study and modernization project for the Coslariu – Cluj-Napoca railway line in Transylvania. Its length is 99 km, and the cost of the work is estimated at 52 million lei (almost 11 million euros). This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply citing CFR information
After reconstruction, the maximum speed of passenger trains should reach 160 km/h, and freight trains – 120 km/h. One of the goals of the work is to increase the flow of tourists in the region.
Sources of financing for the project are European funds and the state budget. The contract is valid for 23 months.
An open tender is held in the SEAP electronic public procurement system. The deadline for accepting proposals is March 29, 2021
