The carrier received a net profit of PLN 23 million. The company’s financial debt has decreased by more than PLN 30 million, and the value of its business activities – by PLN 11 million.

The good results were achieved despite the very unfavorable market conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, including the closure of the economy in the spring and autumn, which led to a significant decrease in the number of passengers.

For the first time in its 20-year history, POLREGIO signed long-term transport contracts with local governments of 14 provinces for the maintenance of rail services in the amount of 9 billion, including in 8 regions for up to 10 years. This provides the company with a stable financial perspective in the long term. In addition, in 2020, the carrier left the definition of a company in a difficult economic situation, which makes it possible to plan the modernization and acquisition of new rolling stock.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of POLREGIO, the largest passenger carrier in Poland. The company’s share in the passenger rail transport market is 27%. The majority shareholder of the company is Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu SA.
