The scope of cooperation between the parties should include the commissioning of a train on the Gliwice – Izmit – Gliwice route within the framework of the operator connection network project, which is a permanent offer of PKP CARGO CONNECT. Izmit is one of the most important cities on the economic map of Turkey, a large port located about 100 km from Istanbul, on the eastern coast of the Sea of Marmara. Permanent service on this route will operate once a week in both directions, with the first train leaving in early May 2021.

PKP CARGO CONNECT representatives see significant development potential in the connections between Poland and Turkey. “We are ready to increase the number of trains to two per week by the end of the year,” says Michal Gileta, manager of intermodal transportation of the company. – It will depend on the interest of customers in our new intermodal service.
