Permission to commission a Vectron MS locomotive with ETCS Baseline 3.4.0 was issued

The Railway Transport Authority has issued an open-ended permit for the commissioning of Vectron MS locomotives equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS) Baseline 3.4.0 in Poland, reports Railway Supply magazine citing Nakolei

So far, such a permit has been used in several European countries, including Germany and Sweden. From the beginning of 2021, all new MS Vectrons supplied to Poland and Europe will be compatible with the latest version of the ETCS system.

The ETCS system unifies communications between on-board train control systems, replacing local systems and creating the basis for the interaction of trains and track infrastructure. ETCS has recently become a global standard in the rail industry.
