Nevomo and Plastwil sign contract for rail fasteners for magrail. Anchorage systems and prestressed concrete sleepers will be part of the magrail test track.

The Polish companies Nevomo, Plastwil and Plastwil de Bonte have signed a cooperation agreement for the supply of prestressed concrete sleepers and rail fastening systems. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Plastwil.

Nevomo will use these sleepers and tie-downs to build a full-scale 750m track to test magrail technology. This track is considered to be the longest passive magnetic levitation test track in Europe.

The fastening systems, together with concrete sleepers, will form part of an extensive magrail test track. This technology belongs to a new generation of high-speed railways, where wagons can travel at speeds of up to 550 km/h. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of this year.

Nevomo Co-Founder and Infrastructure Director Lukasz Melczarek said: “The support of Plastwil, which has rich international experience as a leading manufacturer of components for railway technology, is very important to us. This will enable further steps towards full-scale trials of magrail technology. ”
