OmniTRAX autonomous track inspection has been introduced on the Central Texas and Colorado River Railway (CTXR), the company’s new affiliate in Texas.

Produced by Holland L.P., the ⁠Argus Track Measurement Technology continuously measures track conditions. OmniTRAX officials said the system monitors track safety and identifies abnormalities. Track inspection technologies play an important role in preventing derailments and enable data-driven maintenance planning.

CTXR operations resume across 49 miles

Earlier this year, OmniTRAX ⁠resumed operations across CTXR’s 49-mile route after the line had remained out of use since 2019. The railway links to BNSF Railway at Lometa, Texas.

CTXR returned to active status in April 2026 after infrastructure work on the corridor between a San Saba quarry and Lometa. A service agreement with Texas Materials and BNSF calls for CTXR to transport aggregates from the quarry to the BNSF interchange in Lometa. The initial 49-mile rehabilitation covered a network of bridges and crossings, including structures over the Colorado and San Saba rivers.

Holland says its Argus systems generate track-geometry and rail-profile measurements at every foot. Depending on the Argus product, located track-geometry exceptions can be provided in real time or near real time.

OmniTRAX operates 35 railroads that serve ports and industrial parks across the country.
