For the first time since 2019 in the third quarter of 2021 the State Enterprise “Railway of Moldova” (Calea Ferată din Moldova) made a profit of 32.8 million lei (almost 50 million UAH).

Moldovan railway becomes profitable for the first time since 2019

Compared to the first half of the year, the daily freight turnover of Calea Ferată din Moldova has grown 2.5 times, reports Railway Supply magazine with reference to Railinsider.

Transit from Ukraine also increased in 9 months of 2021 – by 1.7 times compared to the same period last year.

Mainly potassium chloride (fertilizer), iron ore pellets, iron ores and concentrates, coal tar are transported through Moldova.
