Lemtrans significantly increased the volume of work in 2020

The Ukrainian operator of freight cars, Lemtrans, increased its workload by 22.9% last year. A total of 64.53 million tons were transported in its rolling stock. The main range of products was coal and iron ore, informs Railway Supply magazine referring to the Lemtrans press service.

The volume of transportation of iron ore raw materials increased by 1.5 times – up to 24.65 million tons. In addition, the transportation of ferrous metals, coke and fluxes has increased.

At the same time, compared to 2019, the company increased tax payments to the state and local budgets by 21.7% – to UAH 889 million.

Proportionally, the volume of car repairs increased by 21%. In general, 7.6 thousand units were repaired.

The total volume of capital investments at the end of 2020 amounted to UAH 264 million. “Digitalization has become one of the key areas of the company’s innovative development. The priority is to equip the rolling stock with GPS navigation, as well as a project to automate the accounting of rolling stock repairs, ”the company said in a statement.

Lemtrans is the largest private operator of wagons in Ukraine and the second largest rolling stock after JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

100% of the authorized capital of Lemtrans belongs to the industrial and financial group SCM of Rinat Akhmetov.
